The Story
When Lipton put dehydrated onion soup mix on the grocery shelf in 1952, the meatloaf recipe on the back of the box became one of America's most-cooked dinners — five ingredients, one pan, and dinner's ready.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 envelope Lipton Recipe Secrets Onion Soup Mix
- 3/4 cup plain dry bread crumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/3 cup ketchup
Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Combine ground beef, soup mix, bread crumbs, eggs, and water in a large bowl. Shape into a loaf in a 13x9-inch baking or roasting pan.

Spread ketchup evenly over the top.

Bake uncovered 1 hour or until done (internal temperature 160°F). Let stand 10 minutes before slicing.
