"The crunchy, butterscotch cousin to the classic chocolate chip cookie."

The Story
After the massive success of the Toll House Chocolate Chip recipe, Nestlé developed a similar drop cookie recipe to promote their new butterscotch-flavored morsels in the late 1960s. The recipe became a staple on the back of the yellow bags, pairing the morsels with oats to create a distinctively chewy, salty-sweet profile that rivaled the original chocolate version.
