Green Bean Casserole

The Story

Originally called 'Green Bean Bake,' this recipe was developed by Dorcas Reilly in the Campbell’s test kitchen to provide a quick meal using common pantry items. It didn't gain mass popularity until it was printed on the back of the French’s Crispy Fried Onions tin and Campbell’s soup cans. It is now estimated to be served at 20 million American Thanksgiving dinners annually.
