"The summertime staple for juicy, tangy poultry."

The Story
As grilling culture exploded in the late 20th century, French's began printing this simple marinade on their iconic squeeze bottles to show mustard's versatility beyond a hot dog condiment. The vinegar and mustard seed in the yellow mustard act as a natural tenderizer for chicken breasts, making it a quick weeknight dinner favorite.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup French's Classic Yellow Mustard
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves (about 1 1/4 lbs.)
Directions
- 1
In a small bowl, whisk together mustard, honey, oil, garlic powder, and pepper until well blended.
- 2
Reserve 1/4 cup of the mustard mixture for later basting.
- 3
Place chicken in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow glass dish and pour the remaining mustard mixture over the chicken.
- 4
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
- 5
Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill rack.
- 6
Grill chicken for 6 to 8 minutes per side or until cooked through (165°F), brushing frequently with the reserved 1/4 cup mustard mixture during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- 7
Discard any remaining marinade.
