Bisquick Impossibly Easy Quiche

The Story
Part of the 'Impossible' recipe series that became a phenomenon on the back of Bisquick boxes in the 1970s and 80s. The recipe used the chemical properties of the baking mix to separate during baking, forming a bottom crust, a custard filling, and a golden top all from a single poured batter.
Ingredients
- 12 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup Bisquick Original baking mix
- 4 eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
Directions

Heat oven to 400°F. Grease a 9-inch pie plate.

Sprinkle bacon, cheese, and onion in the pie plate.

Stir the remaining ingredients until blended.

Pour the mixture into the pie plate.

Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool 5 minutes before serving.
